Uncontrolled air leakage can account for a large share of the heat lost from an older home, and it is invisible until you measure it. An air tightness test uses a calibrated fan fitted in a doorway to put the house under a small pressure difference and measure the airflow needed to maintain it. While the fan runs, smoke or a thermal camera shows exactly where the air is getting in.
A test certificate giving the air permeability result, a photographic record of the leakage paths found, and a prioritised list of sealing work. Testing can be combined with a retrofit assessment or ventilation survey.
The survey is only the first step. Once you have the report, Graham can obtain quotations from the accredited suppliers he works with regularly, such as SPS South, manage the installation and inspect the finished work before you make the final payment. See how the one stop shop works.
