Improving a home usually means dealing with several companies: someone to assess what is needed, someone to quote, and one or more installers to carry out the work. Few homeowners have the time or the technical knowledge to manage all of that, and the result is often work that is poorly specified, badly sequenced or difficult to get put right.

Eco Home Co offers a simpler route. Graham surveys your home, specifies the work, obtains quotations from the accredited suppliers he works with regularly, and manages the installation from start to finish. You deal with one person throughout, and that person is working for you.

How it works

• Survey. Graham visits your home, inspects the property and produces a written report with photographs and a clear specification for each measure. This stage is independent of any installer.
• Quotation. The specification goes to the most suitable of Graham's trusted suppliers, who provide an itemised quotation for the work you want to proceed with. Graham checks each quotation against the specification before it reaches you.
• Installation. Graham programmes the works, co-ordinates the trades so that each follows on correctly, and is on hand to answer questions and resolve problems as they arise.
• Inspection and sign-off. When the work is complete Graham inspects it against the specification, deals with any snagging and makes sure you receive the certificates and guarantees that each measure requires before the final payment is made.

Trusted suppliers

Graham works with a small number of established, accredited suppliers whose work he knows and has inspected many times. The supplier is chosen to suit the job, so a heat pump installation, a cavity wall extraction and a loft conversion may each go to a different specialist.

His principal partner is SPS (South) Ltd, a family-run retrofit, renewables and property improvement contractor working across southern England. SPS South is TrustMark registered and delivers fully compliant work under PAS 2030, covering insulation, heating, renewables, glazing and building works.

• Air source heat pumps, solar panels and batteries, gas boilers and underfloor heating
• Ventilation systems, damp and condensation remedies and air tightness improvements
• Windows, doors and conservatories, extensions and building work, and full home refurbishments
• Park home insulation and heating upgrades

Still your choice

The survey stands on its own. If you would rather take the report to your own contractor, the specification is written so that any competent installer can price it.
