Most damp in UK homes is condensation, and most of the rest is water getting in from outside through defective gutters, pointing, cills or ground levels. True rising damp is rare. Yet many homeowners are sold chemical damp-proof courses and tanking that do nothing because the diagnosis was wrong.

We investigate first, explain what is happening and recommend the least disruptive fix. Only once the cause is confirmed do we talk about remedial work, which you can have done by your own contractor or through our one stop shop.

What the investigation covers

• Moisture profiling of affected walls and floors with calibrated meters
• Humidity, temperature and surface temperature readings to confirm or rule out condensation
• External inspection of rainwater goods, roof, flashings, render, pointing, cills and ground levels
