Retrofit Assessments

The starting point for any retrofit

A retrofit assessment is a whole-house survey carried out under PAS 2035, the standard that governs domestic energy-efficiency work in the UK. It is required for work funded under schemes such as ECO4 and the Great British Insulation Scheme, and it is the sensible first step for any homeowner planning insulation, heating or renewable improvements with their own money.

Graham Reed is an accredited Retrofit Assessor and carries out assessments across Buckinghamshire and the surrounding counties.

What the assessment includes

• An RdSAP energy survey of the dwelling, which also produces an Energy Performance Certificate
• A condition report covering the building fabric, damp, ventilation and any defects that must be fixed before insulation is installed
• An occupancy assessment looking at how the home is used, heated and ventilated
• A measured floor plan
• Identification of significance for older and traditionally constructed homes

What happens next

The assessment is passed to a Retrofit Coordinator who uses it to produce a medium-term improvement plan and specify the measures in the right order. We can carry out the assessment for your chosen installer or scheme, or manage the whole process through our full project management service.

Please note that we provide Energy Performance Certificates as part of a retrofit assessment rather than as a standalone service.
